Progressive Cavity Pumps

Progressive cavity pumps are an excellent choice when looking for a positive displacement pump.  PC pumps consist of a single helical metal rotor rotating within a double helical elastomer-lined stator, which forms progressive chambers/cavities from the suction end to discharge end moving the liquid.  The liquid acts as the lubricant between the pumping elements and should not be run dry.

The progressive cavity pump was designed to move almost any kind of fluid with no separation disturbance at a uniform discharge flow.  They are self-priming up to 28 feet of suction lift, based on water.

Another design is being economical and efficient with minimum maintenance.  PC pumps are one of the easiest to work on as the main elements are very accessible and require few tools to disassemble and reassemble on-site.

They are helpful in applications of metering and dosing, industrial wastewater, slurries, and other similar applications.

Continental Pump offers many models of Progressive Cavity pumps.  Our pumps are built of various materials in many sizes with capacities from less than 1 GPM to over 2300 GPM and pressure up to 780 PSI.

Pump Frame Size: Approximate GPM Flowrate: Approximate Maximum Pressure: Pump Frame Sizes Available:
CP .1 - 53 GPM 150 PSI 15, 22, 33, 44, 56, 67
CL .40 - 390 GPM 225 PSI 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 10, 10H, 12,12H
CM .10 - 24 GPM 450 PSI 1, 2, 3, 4
CG  2 - 253 GPM 150 PSI 8, 10, 10H, 12, 12H
CK 4 - 2300 GPM 780 PSI E, F, G, H, J & K

Custom options to our standard pumps are available, such as sealing options, rotation of suction housing, and complete units with gearbox, VFD, and motor.

We offer drop-in replacement pumps and parts to popular Progressive Cavity brands.

CP Model Pumps are great for low GPM and viscosity applications and can pump many different types of materials. It’s a low cost pump that is compact and has many drive options.

CJ Model pumps are constructed with two separate pumping elements: an open hopper with an augur and a rotor and stator. They are suitable for a wide variety of applications containing high percentages of solids or abrasives. When properly applied, they provide a long-life performance at an economical cost.

CL Model pumps are suitable for a wide variety of applications including solids up to 1" in diameter and are the most frequently used. When properly applied they give a long-life performance at an economical cost. The simple pin design allows for easy maintenance and reverse operation.

CM Model Pumps are similar to CL Model Pumps, except they have a larger drive head to handle the increased horsepower that is needed to produce the higher pressures that can be developed by these pumps.

CG Model Pumps are designed to handle the heavier applications of Sewage, Industrial Waste, Polluted Liquids, and Slurries. Incorporated into this more rugged pump is a unique drive train using Gear Joint connections to the Rotor and Drive Shaft.

CK 2000 Series Model pumps are built with a rugged gear-type universal joint, which is an effective solution for handling heavy radial thrust loads. The design ensures the best performance with very minimal maintenance, low wear and tear of rotating parts and longer pump life.
