Fickess Pumps is a family-owned and operated company. Started in 1917 and known as Power Equipment Company (PECO), Fickess Pumps has been a distributor and servicer of industrial pumps and motors for over 100 years. Earl Fickess retired from the Viking Pumps Foundry in 1978. Edward E. Fickess worked for Viking Pumps while in college at the University of Northern Iowa. Upon graduation, Ed worked directly for Viking Pumps as an outside sales rep. in the Midwest before taking a position at PECO in the 1970s. When the owners of PECO planned to retire, Ed and Patricia Fickess purchased PECO from Jim Sheperd in 1986. In the 1990s, PECO was renamed Fickess Pumps, Inc. In 2023, Fickess Pumps was passed down to three of Ed and Patricia's descendants. Levonne Anne Spadafora (Daughter), Casey Harper-Shealer (Grand-daughter), and Chris Harper (Grand-son). Fickess Pumps is a 4th generation industrial pump solution provider.
